Hi, I am the Asiatic Lion, a proud and powerful lion found mainly in the Gir Forest of India. Compared to African lions, I have a slightly smaller mane and a strong muscular body. I live in grasslands and dry forests and feed on deer, wild boar, and other animals. I usually live around 12 to 16 years. Lions are social animals and often live in groups called prides.

I am known as a symbol of courage and strength. Lionesses give birth to cubs and raise them with great care. Young cubs learn hunting and survival skills from the adults in the pride. Asiatic lions were once close to extinction, but conservation efforts in India helped increase our population. Today, we are protected and respected as one of India’s most important wild animals.

नमस्ते, मैं एशियाटिक लॉयन हूँ, भारत के Gir National Park में पाई जाने वाली एक शक्तिशाली और गौरवशाली शेरनी। अफ्रीकी शेरों की तुलना में मेरी अयाल थोड़ी छोटी होती है लेकिन मेरा शरीर बहुत मजबूत होता है। मैं सूखे जंगलों और घास के मैदानों में रहती हूँ तथा हिरण, जंगली सूअर और अन्य जानवरों का शिकार करती हूँ। मेरी आयु लगभग 12 से 16 वर्ष तक होती है। हम शेर सामाजिक प्राणी हैं और समूह में रहना पसंद करते हैं।

मैं साहस और शक्ति का प्रतीक मानी जाती हूँ। शेरनी अपने बच्चों की बहुत देखभाल करती है और उन्हें शिकार करना सिखाती है। छोटे शावक बड़ी शेरनियों से जीवन जीने की कला सीखते हैं। एक समय हमारी संख्या बहुत कम हो गई थी, लेकिन भारत में संरक्षण प्रयासों के कारण आज हमारी संख्या बढ़ रही है और हमें सुरक्षित रखा जा रहा है।
